SEPTSA October/November  2010 Events
SEPTSA is the Special Education Parent, Teacher, and Student Association.  Vancouver SEPTSA has the
distinction of being the first Special Ed PTA unit in Washington State.  It provides wonderful educational
opportunities for parents and teachers at frequent conferences and workshops, bringing in nationally known
specialists and local experts who speak to the issues directly affecting children with disabilities and their
families.  Most events are free of charge.  Contact SEPTSAinfo@gmail.com to get on their monthly event
calendar mailing list.
SEPTA's goals are:
•        Reduce isolation among families
•        Improve education and share resource ideas
•        Connect with regional and state PTA activities
•        Encourage students to pursue careers in special education
•        Build a collaborative environment among school professionals and families

EVENTS/INFO:

SEPTSA will continue to hold general meetings on the first Monday evening of each month during the school
year, with a few exceptions (for speaker schedules and holidays). All are welcome to participate in our
general meetings. During 2010-2011, we will continue to meet at:

Eleanor Roosevelt Elem School Media Center
2921 Falk Rd, Vancouver
(around the corner from Jim Parsley Center, next to Vancouver Public Schools Offices)
6:00pm- 7:00pm

We are still accepting annual membership sign-ups and renewals. Dues are $12/member. We greatly
appreciate the membership support, since we do not do fund-raising activities that building PTAs do.
If convenient, you may send a check to:
